It Sucks To Be Me…For Now
Snippets from some Avenue Q show abroad to the tune of my favorite song from the play (ahuhuhu…).
I love plays and musicals. Ever since I watched The Sound of Music, I knew I wanted to be a theater actress doing musicals. Unfortunately, I’m the worst singer in the world.
The ones I like the most are plays and musicals that reflect the realities of life (okay…and love)…my favorites are Rent, “I love you, you’re perfect, now change”, and Merrily We Roll Along. Last night, I added a new one to my list…Avenue Q.
I was pissed at first at how expensive the ticket was…and that we were seated at the last two seats at the end of the last row. Plus I was very sick last night and had a horrible headache.
But thankfully, Avenue Q was well worth it. I was laughing and slapping my lap hard the whole time. Well…okay, I did get teary eyed with some songs….especially “There’s a Fine Fine Line” and “The More You Ruv Someone”. And it was an added bonus that one of my favorite singers, Rachel Alejandro, was performing (when I was young, I said to myself that at my wedding, Rachel Alejandro would be the singer). Plus, my childhood idol, Aiza Seguerra.
The character I could relate to the most was Kate Monster (no surprise) who also shares my first name (although Juned thought it would be Lucy the slut). You know how sometimes you feel that some song is like EXACTLY what you feel or what happened to you in your life? Well, for me, I thought Kate Monster was depicting my life and some things going on right now (pretty accurately). But that would be a whole different story.

Need I say more? Of course, Kate Monster got her happy ending in the end…I wonder…
The play ends with a very hopeful, yet still realistic, note with the song For Now. Sana nga =P
Go watch it! To those who are not convinced yet…here are some spoilers that may encourage you to watch:
1) There’s foul language
2) There’s nudity
3) There’s sex…as in an actual sex scene
4) There’s masturbation
5) C’mon, It’s Aiza Seguerra!
I bet you’re just raring to go buy a ticket now.If you feel lost about your life…if you are still unsure about your ‘purpose’…(which is likely everyone)…and if you think the internet is for porn and you masturbate a lot to internet porn…then you would enjoy this play=)

A semi different prob. The world is almost providing me w/ a not so bright g.f.

Meanwhile, I am 100% different than u. 64 years old, on a pension and very inactive.
